CRANSLay or CRANSLie

Either way you say it is correct. This is a note from Sandy Inverarity, the present family owner of Cransley and Mains of Fowlis in Scotland.

Sandy,

"Lie" was the old Scots way it was pronounced, but we have always used "Lay" - but the emphasis was on the "Crans" ie CRANSlay.

Hope this is clear - and all the best to all the family.

Sandy
